About this deal

As you can see, not a whole lot has changed between models. Like the original, the 2020 Vice Pro is a three-piece performance golf ball with a urethane cover. It’s manufactured by Foremost in Taiwan and features the 318-dimple design common to many Foremost-made balls. It’s the same pattern used on the OnCore ELIXR we reviewed earlier, though we should note that the latest generation of Foremost-made balls features thinner covers. That should lead to more greenside spin and, indeed, that’s among the benefits listed by Vice. How did I like them? The Vice Pro Plus golf balls performed really well for me and I found them pretty similar to the ProV1x balls from Titleist. The distance was just as long as some of the higher-end balls and they didn’t launch as high (which some lower handicaps will like). The only downside is that you have to buy in bulk to get them cheap and the durability isn’t as good as it should be.

Simultaneously, the ionomer mantle and resilient core ensure the ball retains adequate distance potential, making it a well-rounded option for golfers of various skill levels. The balls also attract a lot of dirt, and the dimples are prone to getting brown and murky while on course and you may have to clean up after it a bit more unless you play in extremely pristine courses that is! Users also complain of the balls discoloring faster. Availability Vice balls also have a higher compression rating in comparison to some leading brands but expert claims it is not always rigidly about compression figures as many other things like dimples, cover material, core, etc determine overall performance.

Results from our 2019 Golf Ball test suggest the Vice Pro golf ball is a mid-launch, mid-spin ball. We expect that will carry over with the new model given that the Vice Pro is positioned to compete against the Titleist Pro V1. Vice Pro Golf Ball – Compression What probably earns Vice balls a plus point is their great value for money, their “direct to consumer” approach, their great performance and their great customization options. Overall, the amount of control and forgiveness I had as a mid handicap player with a medium swing speed was actually better than a more expensive Titleist Prov. Distance & Performance

Short Game

The compression range of the 2020 Vice Pro sample was just over nine points, compared to 13 points with the previous model. What did stand out for both models was the consistency. Many golfers are concerned about balls from smaller companies because of quality control issues. In all the wedge shots I hit, I did not get a single unexpected result. Long Game Again … speaking to patterns … while Foremost excels at making balls all the same size, the layers aren’t always evenly distributed. In every case where we flagged a ball as bad, it was because of a significant concentricity issue with the mantle layer, the cover or both. Thus, making it a popular choice for players seeking a high-quality ball without breaking the bank. Vice Pro Plus Review:
